Seek & ye shall find!

Some days just seem to be "lucky".

I dash into the nearest village to do a quick run of basic essentials needed for a luncheon meeting and "voila" -- a new tat shop has opened with a variety of goodies at knock-down prices! Took me back to New York circa the late 80's and mid 90's when combing the flea markets was a regular weekend thrill.

As I'm almost about to walk out, I spy a basket of junk on the floor hidden by the leaves of the table they've set out to display their more appealing scrap. Amongst this "treasure trove" what do I find?

A 3 inch long horn "tiger's claw" set in silver!

OK it is dark green which means the horn was obviously dyed. Not a problem! In fact it works rather well in my present circumstances. For several months there has been a string of opaque, pentagon shaped Tibetan aquamarines begging for attention. A pair of drop silver Indian earrings which were not suitable for period ear decoration have been teamed with the aquamarines and I do rather hope to get another set of them later to add to the overall design of the necklace. However, the faux tiger's claw would probably work well combined with the above mentioned pieces. Clutching my haul I approach the desk, £3.50 thank you very much!

Herewith is the rough concept for the Tiger necklace.

Isn't it just? It really needs four or five "claws" but I'm happy with one and we'll see what comes up in the future as far as finds go. :D
