Tiger, tiger burning bright

What every well dressed upper class Hindu man is wearing in 16thC India!

As good luck symbol and indicator of status the Tiger claw said it all. Worn most commonly as a necklace of gem stone beads with several claws strung between them. The claws were outlined with gold or silver along one edge, capping the tip of the claw and topped off at the top with an ornamented setting.

Even if I felt comfortable laying out the cash for one, I'm not certain that I really want to wear a real claw from an animal killed for sport or superstition. Am tempted to make a version in Fimo painted with acrylics to add colour variations for realism. Working in layers of varnish, sanding and stippled acrylics over the base coat of Fimo and colours would enhance the overall effect. Convincing the jeweller to come up with the setting isn't going to be easy.
