The Fan and Inspiration source

With permission from the TAPI Collection, here are scans of the 15thC textile from Gujarat and the motif which I've used for inspiration as the basis to embellish the surfaces of the axe head fan.

Ceremonial Cloth: Produced in Gujarat circa the 15thC and traded to Indonesia or East Timor. Cotton: Block printed, mordant and resist-dyed.
Warp: 466cm, weft: 77cm. thread count: 12/16, twist: Z/Z.
Catalogue No. TAPI 01.54

You'll notice that I have not planned an exact replica of the motif but rather am considering amending values such as the colour options, modifying the design to make it more masculine in my opinion thus more graphic in execution to suit the dynamics of my persona and the likely choices he would make when selecting an accessory.
