Carving detail of Elephants: Architectural detail from the Temple Complex of Khajuarho - 1989: Wikipedia, circa 9thC CE to 12thC CE
As decided last night, I began on the dhoti once more. This time working up the fourteen red spires or triangles along the edge of a red strip as well as the black "pearls."
The black pearls were done with a circular stamp, spaced between negative areas of additional pearls which allows the yellow ground to show through. (The black fabric paint is taking a while to dry.) This is making for a very bold design.
I need to plot out the other striated borders which will follow in the next few days. The hemline also requires a border and I'm almost certain that I will include an edging of stylised elephants based on the carving above. Probably red pachyderms against a black ground. Although that will be decided once I've worked out the current pallu borders in toto and executed the preliminary roughs for the elephants.
The field is a "go" with the original blocks for the geometric cross/squares I designed but shall alternate black and red blocks in the stamping.
Once the most recent painted sections are dry and set, I will scan an area and post.

Hey. Your lj account is gone. But I see you are still busy here, so presumably well. It's hazebrouck.
Hi there! Great minds and all that -- Sunshine & I have been digging up addies for you and was about to ping you the link here this very evening.
I streamlined furiously and decided that I have so little time that the eBlog for the SCA projects was more fun and important, than my whining and moaning about my real-life stuff and dreary fears. Have gone from eleven email accounts to three and one blog for focus!
Am furiously job hunting, working on my research and fabric stuff, and developing leads - think I'm ready to move on and New Zealand or Argentina are beckoning.
But I'll send you the email contacts and the Skype addy via email. Hugs!
