It's been a busy week in may ways and amongst the various projects which I've got under control has been the fan -- drew up the various patterns needed for the applique layers. These I shall cut and begin to tack into position by the middle of this week.
- Managed to locate some polystyrene and intend to make some experimental stamps to simulate period Indian blocks of the 14th and 15thC's. That means working up rough motifs in typical style and playing with the formatting so I can get a good idea of what effects can be created which gel with the period motifs and border decorations.
- Worked on the chain stitch sampler. Am well pleased with the end results. Time now to get the design plotted and drawn up on the patka. (All I need now is a bright sunny day so I can see the details clearly!)
- Worked up some rough scraps with the fabric paint to see what happens with various ideas I've had and how the medium actually handles/what idiosyncrasies emerge from the exercise.
Will have to contact Whaley's this week too for swatch samples, I shall need some silk sating or taffeta for the fan am sure. Must certainly make time for some serious scanning to update my Blog. Should really check on supplies in stock and crack as many of these concepts into reality within the next several weeks.
